HOW TO SIZE YOUR ITEM FOR PRICING, CUBIC FEET

There are two ways to measure cubic feet

The First Method is to measure the size of the package in feet:

METHOD 1 = EXAMPLE

With a measuring tape, take the measurements of your box

Height, Length, Width. in inches

Convert those numbers to feet and or fractions thereof (as best you can)

For example, 6 inches is 0.5 feet. 18 inches is 1.5 feet.

24 inches is 2 feet

Multiply the 3 numbers and you will get the cubic footage of the box

A BOX 18 INCHES HIGH x 12 INCHES LONG x 24 INCHES WIDE WOULD BE

1.5 feet x 1 foot x 2 feet = 3 CUBIC FEET

The Second Method is to measure the number of inches on each side. To calculate the cubic feet of an item in inches, you can use the formula: Length (in inches) × Width (in inches) × Height (in inches) ÷ 1728 (cubic inches per cubic foot). This will give you the cubic footage of the item.

METHOD 2 – EXAMPE

Your package is 24 inches high X 18 inches wide X 20 inches long.

24” X 18” X 20” = 8640
8640 / 1728 = 5 cubic ft.

When evaluating the biological safety of an item to be stored, asking specific questions can help determine its potential risks. Here are five questions we consider:

  1. What is the Composition of the Item?
    • Inquire about the components or ingredients of the item. Determine if it contains any biological agents, such as microorganisms, toxins, or biological by-products, which could pose risks to human health or the environment.
  2. Has it Undergone Biocompatibility Testing?
    • Ask whether the item has been subjected to biocompatibility testing or assessments. This includes evaluating its compatibility with biological systems, such as tissues, cells, or living organisms, to ensure it does not elicit harmful reactions or adverse effects.
  3. Are there Any Known Health Risks Associated with the Item?
    • Investigate whether there are any documented health risks or adverse effects associated with the use or exposure to the item. This may include allergic reactions, toxic effects, or infectious potential.
  4. What Safety Certifications or Standards Does it Meet?
    • Inquire about any safety certifications, regulatory approvals, or compliance with industry standards that the item has obtained. This could include certifications for biocompatibility, quality management systems, or adherence to specific safety guidelines.
  5. What Handling and Disposal Guidelines Should be Followed?
    • Seek information on recommended handling procedures and disposal guidelines for the item. Determine if there are specific precautions or protocols that need to be followed to minimize risks during use, storage, or disposal.

By asking these questions, we can assess the biological safety of the item and make informed decisions regarding whether we are able to store it for you or not, ensuring the protection of individuals and the environment from potential hazards.
